Candace Wellman and Dean Kahn

Candace Wellman holds a B.A. in sociology from Washington State University and a B.Ed. in history/secondary education from Western Washington University, has pursued graduate work in sociology and has done personal family research. She is the author of two award-winning books from WSU Press, “Peace Weavers: Uniting the Salish Coast through Cross-Cultural Marriages” and a companion volume, “Interwoven Lives: Indigenous Mothers of Salish Coast Communities.”

Dean Kahn worked for The Bellingham Herald for 29 years as a reporter, editor and columnist. He retired in 2016.
