John M. Harris is an associate professor in the journalism at Western Washington University. He worked for more than 20 years as a reporter, editor and photographer for the Bellingham Herald, Skagit Valley Herald, Seattle Post-Intelligencer and Spokesman-Review, and the author of “Redemption in ’64: The Champion Cleveland Browns.”
