To the Editor:
Over the past several years, I’ve watched Katherine take on role after role in our community and give each one her full heart and soul. Our island has benefited in real and lasting ways because of her commitment.
But what has impressed me even more is the person she has become in the process. Katherine has done the hard work she has developed a capacity to genuinely listen, hold multiple perspectives at once, and act as both ambassador and mediator when the stakes are high. She leaves no stone unturned. When something needs clarity or repair, she always circles back. She doesn’t let anything fester or fall through the cracks. This is very challenging on a small island, where everyone knows everyone and the weight of community dynamics is palpable. Katherine navigates all of it with warmth, humility and a sense of humor.
She is dedicated to growth in herself and in the communities she serves. That kind of person is rare. That kind of leadership is what county council needs. I’m proud to endorse Katherine Bryant Ingman.
